Rouet – Provence FA

Background

This Provençal identity is rich and colorful, rooted in a thousand years of history. It is characterized by a language, Provençal (derived from Occitan), which reflects local culture and traditions. Provençal gastronomy, with emblematic dishes such as ratatouille and bouillabaisse, features fresh, local ingredients such as olive oil and Provençal herbs. It is served during the Principality of Rouet-Provence's national holiday. The landscapes, between Mediterranean Sea and garrigues, are emblematic of this region, and well represented in the Principality in the Calanque du Rouet.
In 2024, the Principality centered its National Day around the theme of the Provençal Olympic Games (to resonate with those of Paris 2024). But, above all, the people behind this Principality and this winegrowing adventure have one passion in common: soccer. All, without exception, are current or former players (like Prince Pierre 1er); some are also directors of local clubs (MARIGNANE-GIGNAC FC and FC COTE BLEUE), including 3 former or future presidents. Our ambition is to present a men's team (a mix of experienced and young players), as well as our senior women's leisure team, at European Championship and World Cup matches; all this, to raise the profile of the Principality of Le Rouet-Provence.
